Michael Lewis studied medicine at St Thomas' Hospital Medical School, graduating in 1988. His surgical training took him through London, Nottingham, Los Angeles and East Anglia before he was appointed as a consultant surgeon at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital in 1999.
He is also an honorary Professor at the University of East Anglia, with a clinical specialty in Upper Gastrointestinal and Laparoscopic surgery.
